Self Care … 4/12/20

One of the most important things in life is to take care of our body. Doing little things to better our self care can make our bodies happy and healthy. In tragic times, like now, we need to really consider the proper techniques in order to keep our bodies healthy. Self care can mean a lot of things. It can be simply going on a walk, taking a hot shower, or reading a book. Self care is all about making your body happy. I personally have a self care routine I like to do for myself. My routine consists of waking up in the morning and eating a well-balanced breakfast to start my day off strong. Then after I eat my breakfast, I usually take my dogs on a long walk around my neighborhood so they can get some fresh air. After our walk, I go on a long distance run to clear my head. After my run, I like to take a long hot shower to release all my germs and refresh my body. Once I shower, I enjoy doing a facemask to open and clear my pores. I always feel so good about myself after working out and cleaning my body. After cleaning up, I usually work on my homework, or if I am finished with my homework, I usually listen to music and draw to relax my mind. There are many things you can do for yourself that help with your self care. The little things can make a huge difference with how you feel or present yourself.

Quarantine … (4/5/20)

Right now, in our world, there are numerous things going on that are putting a “stop” to living a regular lifestyle. Because of these tragic situations, everyone is being told to be “self-quarantined.” Basically what this means is to be aware of your surroundings and to be cautious with the way you treat your body. These tragic situations happening have taken people away from their families, friends, jobs, schools, etc. I personally am very hurt by this situation since I am a Freshman in college. It was about to be the fourth quarter and everyone was so excited for the weather to start getting nice. But, something came our way of stopping those things. We were asked to leave our University due to a virus going around our world. All students and faculty were upset about this, but it had to be done in order for everyone to be safe and healthy. Now that mostly everyone is at home, people are starting to get bored with being in their homes most of the day. Everyone keeps complaining about being in “quarantine” but there are many ways to stay positive while all of this bad is happening. I personally am looking at the situation as a way of God allowing us to become more healthier and aware of our bodies. I also see it as a way of spending time with our parents and pets. Lastly, I see it as a way of God telling us to take more action in health and safety for our world. I believe if we all participate properly, the situation will soon be less of a problem.

My Future Plans …

When I was younger, my dream was to be a doctor. I have always loved observing medical workers when I have appointments. I never really knew what I wanted to do in the medical field, but I have always been interested in Physical Therapy. Throughout my life, I have gotten injured during soccer and gymnastics. This lead to numerous Physical Therapy appointments. My Physical Therapist is a great lady who is passionate about her job. I am truly inspired by her and her hard work. Going into college, I did not want to start my studies off with something specific. I chose Psychology as my major for Freshman year. I chose this major solely because I knew it would allow me to explore different classes with science. Being in many science and psychology classes, I have found that I love science. I enjoy my science classes and I succeed in these classes. By next year, I will be changing my major to Health Science with a focus in Physical Therapy. If I continue doing well in my science classes, I believe I can succeed in the future. After college, my plan is to go to medical school. I hope to intern at a hospital so that I can grasp a better sense of what working in a hospital is like. My goal is to become a Physical Therapist for athletes. With my passion for sports and medicine, I believe this would be a great career for me. Working with athletes will allow me to connect and grow a relationship with each patient. Not only will I help the patients gain strength and hope back, I can also give advice about sports and how to stay healthy. I can see myself learning a lot more after college. My hope is to use my knowledge to help young athletes grow and stay healthy.
